The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna state has upheld the victory of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State in the 2019 gubernatorial election.

The Kano state Election Petition Tribunal declared that the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Abba Yusuf challenging Ganduje’s victory lacked merit.

Justice Halima Shamaki, the presiding Judge while delivering the judgement dismissed the PDP’s petition which prayed for the nullification of Ganduje’s victory on the March 9, gubernatorial election.

The Judge posited that the petitioner could not declare the score of the March 9th election through presenting a certified original copy.

In a similar manner, the Appeal Court through a unanimous Judgement delivered by a-five man panel on Friday slammed the 24 ground of appeal filed by the PDP and its candidate, Abba Yusuf.
