An Ebonyi group, under the auspice of The Ogbonnaya Onu Political Organisation (TOPO), has applauded President Buhari lead administration over his recent economic diversification and repositioning.
Contained in a communiqué they issued at the end of its emergency meeting held in Abakiliki on Sunday, the group commended President Buhari for applying wisdom in nominating Onu.
Signed by Chief Innocent Ugochima, the National Chairman of the group, and Mr. Hyacinth Oteh its National secretary, the communiqué applauded Buhari’s determination in his fight against corruption head-on and degrading of Boko Haram group to a halt as well as addressing other forms of criminality in the country.
The group also acknowledged the steady growth of the National Economy and the consequent increase in the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) were all attributed to the diversification policy of Buhari administration.
They concurred that the attention directed on the agricultural, textile and mining sectors which were neglected due to oil windfall has yielded a good result.
They revealed the relentless campaign against financial graft; security challenges and the doggedness of the government in revamping the agricultural, mining sectors and textile industry were commendable achievements.
In their statement, “We applaud the president for his wisdom in nominating the personalities who in our estimation have track-record of achievements and intelligence to assist you in the great and onerous task of moving our great country forward,’’ the group added.
Meanwhile, the group described Onu as a “man endowed with academic and political prowess; a first-class creative mind, a detribalized Nigerian and someone well suited for the Next Level governance.’’
