Re-Energise Your Team, Reshuffle Ministers, NGO Tells Buhari

The Rule of Law Development Foundation (RODLDF), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to reshuffle his cabinet for improved performance.

Hon. Johnson Agbonayinma, a member of the House of Representatives member representing Egor/Ikpoba-okha constituency of Edo State, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). His defection was announced at plenary on Thursday in a letter read to the lawmakers by Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house.

In a bid to make Imo State workers 'happy', Governor Rochas Okorocha has approved the payment of November and December salaries to civil servants in the state. The Governor made this known in a statement issued by the Commissioner of Information, Nnamdi Obiaraeri. He said the move was to ensure that all employees in the state had a seamless Christmas.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has debunked allegations that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar may be an APC mole working against the interest of the party. In a statement issued by the Chairman's media office, Secondus said the claims were baseless and skewed primarily to distract and cause division within the party.

As part of efforts to avert expulsion by Egmont Group, the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit under the supervision of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will on January 1, 2017 operate independently. The Acting Chairman of the EFCC stated this on Wednesday when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Financial Crimes and Anti-Corruption to defend the Commission's 2018 budget proposal.

The Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has called for the arrest and prosecution of members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) parading themselves as Fresh PDP. The Governor who made the call when he hosted the newly elected national chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus as well as other members of the National Working Committee said the members of the Fresh PDP were disturbing the peace of the nation.
