Presidential Muhammadu Buhari has returned to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after a private visit to his hometown, Daura in Katsina state.  According to NAN, the Presidential aircraft carrying the president and some of his aides took off from the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina, at about 10.45a.m and landed at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 11.28a.m.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Sunday approved the appointment of Abubakar Danladi as his Special Adviser on Special Duties. The appointment was announced through a statement by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Senate President, Yusuph Olaniyonu.

The Presidency has slammed Senator Danjuma Goje over his criticism of the Buhari administration’s Social Investment Programme (SIP). Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Laolu Akande, said contrary to Goje’s view, the programme is touching the lives of many Nigerians. Akande denied the claim that the SIP has received over a N1trn already.

Former Governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomole has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to be ruthless in dealing with former and serving government officials discovered to have looted public funds. The former governor stated this on Sunday in Benin during a chat with newsmen.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday played host to some Nigerian Senators in his Daura Home, Katsina. The senators, led by Abdullahi Adamu were in the state on a condolence visit following the death of their colleague, Senator Mustapha Bukar. The President while receiving the senators thanked them for their support and show of solidarity with the people of Katsina North senatorial district in the aftermath of the death of the Senator representing the zone.

The Nigerian Army on Saturday said its troops killed five boko haram insurgents in a gun battle at Barkin-Dutse Area in Adamawa State. The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.General Texas Chukwu said that the troops engaged and killed the insurgents following a distressed call by hunters on Friday.
