Following the decision by all State Governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support the call by President Muhammadu Buhari for the conduct of congresses and conventions to facilitate the emergence of new leadership for the party across all levels, members of the current National Working Committee of the party are moving their personal belongings from their offices at the National Secretariat, Abuja.

A staff at the APC Secretariat confirmed to Vigil360 that the decision was to avoid embarrassment, more so that no one knows the decision that would be reached at the next National Executive Council meeting billed to take place next week.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday said allegations that his administration is favouring one religion and attempting to Islamize Nigeria was unfortunate, totally untrue and skewed by opposition elements to hoodwink Nigerians. Embattled Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has lodge an appeal at the Supreme Court urging the apex court to declare the petitions submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission seeking his recall as illegal. The Senator in an appeal he filed against the March 16, 2018 judgment of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal also urged the apex court to declare the recall process as illegal.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of All Progressives Congress (APC) would take final decision Monday on tenure elongation for national and state executives of the party.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said on Wednesday in Abuja at the end of a three-hour meeting between the governors and the National Working Committee (NWC).

The party had on Tuesday, constituted a 10-member technical committee headed by Gov. Simon Dalung of Plateau to work out the way forward on the tenure issue.

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Julius Maada Bio on his victory as the new President of Sierra Leone, after the presidential election run-off on March 31. The President commends the people of Sierra Leone on the successful conduct of the presidential election run-off as well as the parliamentary and local council elections held on March 7, 2018.

A prominent Afenifere Chieftain, Ayo Adebanjo has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration as a calamity. The elder statesman said this in his autobiography titled ‘Telling It As It Is,’ which was publicly presented in Lagos on Tuesday. In the book which was read by Professor Wale Adebamwi, the author took a swipe at former President Obasanjo.
