As the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) holds it state congresses on Saturday, some hoodlums disrupted the exercise of a faction of the party in Ondo state. The Ondo state factional congress involved those loyal to the suspended Chairman, Mr. Isaacs Kekemeke. The hoodlums stormed the venue in Akure, the state capital armed with sticks and clubs and attacked delegates and members as well as newsmen at the venue.

The Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Abdullaziz Murtala Nyako on Friday said the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) must cancel the recently conducted ward and local government congresses in the state or suffer the disaster that await it the near future.

Embattled Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the Natuional Aseembly, Dino Melaye, who was recently granted bail by a High Court sitting in Lokoja has finally broken his silence. Recall that the Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajana on Wednesday admitted Dino to bail with the sum of N10m and one surety. The bail was granted on health grounds.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed satisfaction with the current level of relationship between Nigeria and the United States.  The President, who spoke on the issue when he received a telephone call from the U.S. Secretary of State, Michael Pompeo, also used the opportunity to congratulate the new Secretary of State on his appointment.

The Federal Government has faulted claims by the Lagos State Government that a Federal High Court had shut down the Ikoyi marriage registry, insisting that the report was false. The Ministry of Interior said that the court, presided over by Justice Chuka Obiozor, simply upheld the judgment of a Federal High Court delivered in 2002, which was not appealed.

The internal wrangling within Imo state chapter of All progressives Congress (APC) appears to be deepening as stakeholders of the party in the state have called for the expulsion of Governor Rochas Okorocha from the party. The call was made by the National Organizing Secretary of the party, Osita Izunaso, Hope Uzodinma and Ifeanyi Ararume among other stakeholders in Imo state.
