Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has debunked media reports suggesting that he has dumped his gubernatorial ambition in the September 22, governorship election in the state. Omisore in a statement issued to newsmen by his media team on Wednesday described the rumour as the handiwork of his political detractors and enemies of progress.
He explained that the move was “one of their antics of misinforming the good people of Osun state especially now that the governorship election is fast approaching.”
He stressed that the rumour was, “Part of the series of wicked lies already packaged” by his “political antagonists and enemies of Osun state to confuse the people of the state about the coming governorship poll.
“This is to state emphatically that I, Senator Iyiola Omisore is still in the race for the governorship election in our dear Osun state scheduled to hold on September, 22, this year.
“My ambition to contest the governorship election remains intact and unshaking by the Special grace of God. I am saying here that I have not and will not shy away from my determination to liberate the people of Osun state by serving them as the next governor of Osun state.
“Let me assure the good people of Osun state, that there will be no going back in my ambition to contest the September, 22, 2018 governorship election in Osun state. By the special of God, my victory in the September 22 election is certain and already ordained by God. Enough of display of all these desperate antics of telling/spreading of falsehood all in the name of achieving cheap political points. It is glaring that my political detractors have again failed with this recent wicked lie," he added.
