Banditry: Buhari Dispatches Security Chiefs To NorthWest

President Muhammadu Buhari has dispatched major security and intelligence chiefs to Sokoto and Katsina States in response to the recent spike in bandit activities. According to senior special media aide, Garba Shehu, the president is expecting an immediate situation report and recommendations on actions to follow to effectively deal with the worrying situation.

President Buhari Commissions Made-in-Nigeria Vessel, NNS Oji

President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned a Seaward Defence Boat III, also called Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Oji in Lagos State on Thursday. NNS Oji was built by the Nigerian Navy at the Naval Dockyard Limited, Lagos after the successful construction of NNS Adoni and NNS Karaduwa, which were commissioned by President Buhari in 2016. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina disclosed this in a statement titled ‘Naval Dockyard, President Buhari Commissions NNS Oji, Another Made-In-Nigeria Vessel.’

CJN Warns Against Harassment, Embarrassment Of Judges

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Muhammad has stated that harassment and embarrassment of judicial officers by any government agency would no longer be tolerated. The CJN made this known on Wednesday at the ceremony to mark the official commencement of the Supreme Court’s 2021/2022 legal year. He said, “On a very sad note, I must say, we were jolted with the embarrassing news of the invasion of the official residence of one of our brother Justices, Hon Justice Mary Peter Odili on Friday, October 29 by men suspected to be security operatives, acting on a search warrant.

The Nigerian Army has raised an alarm that the war on terror launched by the Nigerian government may suffer a setback as the surrendered terrorist fighters are sabotaging the fight against the insurgent. The theatre Commander of “Operation Hadin Kai” Maj. Travel Ban: Order By UK Is Discriminatory And Repressive – FG Kicks

The Nigerian Government had yesterday kicked against the travel ban against travellers from Nigeria to the United Kingdom on the claim that Nigerians were already infected with the omicron variant of the coronavirus. The FG demanded with immediate effect that the UK authorities should review its decision which they described as ‘knee-jerk” apartheid, discriminatory and unscientific. The Nigerian Government insisted that including Nigeria into the list of the countries ban was not based on scientific considering the Nigerian approach to fighting the pandemic which was acknowledged worldwide.
