South East: IPOB Does Not Speak For The Entire Igbos - Ohanaeze

President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof George Obiozor has voiced out Ndigbo's position on Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB's recent ban on the consumption of cow meat in the South-East, insisted that IPOB, does not speak for the entire people of the Southeast. The Ohanaeze President-General who disclosed this on Friday while featuring on Arise Tv, said IPOB's ban, which has attracted outrage from Northern leaders, was based on perceived injustice against the Southeast.

Mr. President said this in an interview with Channels Television, broadcasted on Wednesday. “There is one institution in the country I would not interfere (with), which is the judiciary,” Mr. Buhari said. Group Urge Northerners To Boycott Business Operated By Southerners

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has threatened to call for a boycott of all businesses operated by Igbos all over the North from April 2022. The CNG gave the warning in reaction to the so-called cattle ban by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on the use of ‘Fulani cows (beef) in the South East. CNG Spokesperson, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, stated yesterday that IPOB’s order last Monday “amounts to grave provocation and serious threat to Northern commercial interests in the South East, and by extension to the physical wellbeing of Northerners living as minorities among Igbo communities. “It is a renewed resolve to pay coin for coin any direct or indirect attack or threat to Northerners and their interests anywhere in the country,” Suleiman said.

President Buhari Rules Out Creation Of State Police

President Muhammadu Buhari has once again insisted that the creation of state police in the country is not an option. The President expressed fear that it could be abused by State Governors and most states would be unable to fund it. He made this known during an interview with Channels TV, amidst increased calls for state police, especially after an Assistant Superintendent of Police publicly defied the directive of the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu regarding the recent Magodo land dispute.
