UniAbuja Sacks Two Professors Over Sex Scandal, Demotes Two Others For Certificate Forgery

The Council of the University of Abuja has approved the dismissal of, Prof. Adeniji Adedayo Abiodun of the Department of Animal Science at the Faculty of Agriculture over sex escapade involving his female students.

Contained in a statement signed by, Dr Habib Yakoob, the Head of information and university Relation after its 85th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday and Thursday, 12th 2019, after considering reports and recommendations from the disciplinary committee and approved the termination of appointment of two professors for various acts of misconduct.

 

The report revealed that Abiodun was dismissed over illicit relationship with his female student which by university rule considered it as “scandalous and disgraceful nature” as provided in section 16, subsection 3(c) of the University condition of service for senior staff (1999).

 

Also contained in the report was Professor Agaptus Buzo – Chibuzo Orji of the Department of Science and Environmental Education, of the faculty of Education who was also sacked for “falsification of his Academic Record” “ aiding and abating of examination malpractice” and also for “ corruption and dishonesty”.

 

The Council also approved the demotion of Dr. Robert Dajal, Department of Science and Environmental Education, Faculty of Education by a rank, from Associate Professor to Senior Lecturer, and Mr. Gana Emmanuel Sunday Defian, Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture by two ranks, from Lecturer 1 to Assistant Lecturer, for their complicity in various acts of misconduct inimical to the good image of the University.

 

The University management wishes to reiterate its commitment to high moral standards and its resolve to take disciplinary action against any airing staff or students who may be mulling taking a similar path.
