The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have on Thursday announced the delisting of 133 Unified Tertiary Matriculation (UTME) Computer Based Training (CBT) centres for allegedly aiding examination malpractices.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar JAMB made the announcement while addressing CBT operators, service providers, technical advisors among others in a meeting in Zaria, Kaduna State.
He condemned the activities of the CBT operators, saying they sometimes tamper with the Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in the respective centres.
Oloyede disclosed that JAMB in efforts to curb malpractices is collaborating with the Computer Professional Council of Nigeria to monitor the conduct of the upcoming UTME examination.
He explained that any operator found involved in any malpractice will be prosecuted.
Also speaking, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Sadiq Abubakar commended JAMB for their transparency and efforts in reducing the rate of UTME exam malpractice in the country.
He assured that the measures adopted by the examination board will also aid in producing sound students.
