Danish Killer Husband Receives Death Sentence

A Lagos High Court on Friday has sentenced a Dane, Peter Nielsen, to death by hanging for killing his Nigerian wife and daughter. Nielsen was arraigned on June 13, 2018. Justice Bolanle Okikiolu-Ighile convicted Nielsen, 54, on two counts of murder brought against him by the Lagos State Government.

FG suspends Accountant-General Over Alleged Fraud

The Accountant General of Federation, Ahmed Idris, has been suspended indefinitely by the federal government of Nigeria through the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, hours after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested him over an alleged fraud of N80 billion.

EFCC Arrests Former NDDC MD

A former Managing Director (MD) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Nsima Ekere was arrested on Wednesday by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud to the tune of N47 billion. According to reports, Ekere voluntarily submitted himself to the Commission’s Lagos zonal office.

EFCC Arrests AGF Over Alleged Fraud

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested the current Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Mr. Ahmed Idris on Monday over alleged diversion of funds and money laundering to the tune of N80 billion. This was disclosed by the Commission’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren in a statement titled ‘EFCC arrests Ahmed Idris, Accountant-General of the Federation for N80Bn Fraud’.
