Late Gospel Singer Osinachi Finally Laid To Rest

The remains of late Ekwueme singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu have been laid to rest in Abia State. Osinachi’s body was buried in her hometown, Isochi Umunneochi in Abia State. The burial was attended by her twin sister, siblings, parents, children, pastors from Dunamis church, and fans. The majority of the burial rites were carried out in Abuja. Before the final internment, a night of worship was held in Abuja on Thursday. 

Osinachi’s Husband Pleads Not Guilty

The husband of top Nigerian gospel singer, Peter Nwachukwu has pleaded not guilty to all 23-count charges relating to the death of Osinachi and alleged abuse in their marriage. Osinachi Nwachukwu's death in April in Abuja sparked outrage after her family alleged she was a domestic abuse victim. A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Wuse, on Friday, remanded Peter, at the Kuje Correctional Facility, pending the hearing and determination of the homicide-related suit instituted against him by the Attorney General of the Federation. Justice N.K. Nwosu-Iheme gave the order after he pleaded not guilty to 23 counts bordering on domestic violence and homicide, among others.

The Federal High Court, Abuja on 14th June 2022 has convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment two co-defendants in a suit filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) against the suspended deputy commissioner of police over alleged dealing with drugs.

Alleged Fraud: Court Grants Okorocha N500m Bail

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail of N500 million to a former governor of Imo State and presidential aspirant, Rochas Okorocha. The presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the ruling on Tuesday, stating that a surety, who owns a property in Abuja, worth not less than N500 million is also required for the bail application.
