Protest In Sokoto Over Arrest Of Deborah's Killer

Presently there is an ongoing protest in Sokoto State calling for the immediate release of all who were apprehended by the police over the murder of Miss Deborah Samuel a 200-level student of the State College of Education, who was beaten, stoned, and was set ablaze for accused blasphemy.

The video went viral on 12th May 2022 on social media platform and have caused an uproar from Nigerians calling for the government to bring to book all who were involved in Deborah's gruesome murder.

At least two persons were arrested by the police after the incident, and the security agents vowed through Sanusi Abubakar, Police spokesperson in Sokoto State, that the suspects in the viral video on Twitter were spotted and will be nailed soon.

As the demonstrators side with the killers on Saturday morning, security forces are on the ground managing the situation.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Sokoto State Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has declared 24 hours curfew across the state after a protest of the youth in the state, as to ensure peace and order is being restored in the state metropolis and the entire state as stated by the governor.
