The latest annual report released by the World Health Organisation (WHO) reveals that more than half of the global population lacked access to essential healthcare services. The report, titled ‘World Health Statistics: Monitoring Health for the Sustainable Development Goals’, is WHO’s annual snapshot of the state of the world’s health.

An Abuja based cardiologist, Dr. Tunde Fagbemi, has advised Nigerians to regularly check their blood pressure to avoid cardiovascular diseases. He gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday. He noted that high blood pressure remained a silent killer which, if not properly managed, could lead to heart attack, stroke, heart diseases and chronic kidney disease, among other health problems.

The Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) has called off strike in Lagos, Kano, Yobe and Niger states.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Biobelemoye Josiah, JOHESU chairman, called on all health workers in the four states to relax the strike following the “implementation” of the agreement by the states.

He also asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Isaac Adewole, minister of health, for allegedly taking sides with doctors in the ongoing strike.

They found in recent trials that injecting 20m stem cells into the base of the penis could give a boost to the nerves and blood vessels, which could help cure men of erectile dysfunction.

This will also enlarge the size of the penis, which is something Viagra could not do.
