Nigerian rapper, performer and songwriter Michael Ugochukwu Stephens popularly known by his stage name Ruggedman has called out fellow celebrities who lend support to politicians before the conduct of general elections. Ruggedman who spoke in the face of biting economic realities in the country especially the prevailing scarcity of fuel laid curse on anyone who 'will support corrupt politicians that only becomes the friends of the masses during the election period'.

He said Nigerians must be careful in selecting their leader. His tweet reads;

"Election will be here soon. All the deaf and dumb politicians will miraculously be healed. The ones with amnesia too. They will suddenly remember you exist and will go into markets to sit with pepper/corn sellers and ride okada to fake connecting with the masses. God Punish anyone who supports them"

His post may not be unconnected with his experiences during the 2015 general elections when all major aspirants resorted to the use of celebrities during electioneering campaigns.
