Senator Ben Bruce has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to consider travelling with Nigerian global hip-pop and film stars on official trips to the UK and US, to help redeem what he claims is the country’s “bad reputation.”

The PDP Senator who represents Bayelsa East made the remarks late Tuesday in a series of tweets on Twitter.

According to him, Nigeria’s image will be done a lot of good if Buhari travels with the likes of TuFace, Wizkid, Davido, Tekno or Omotola.

“Dear President Buhari, Nigerian artists are doing Nigeria proud. A New Year idea. The next time you are going to the UK or US or any major Western nation, take a couple of them, like @official2baba, @wizkidayo and @iam_Davido with you and introduce them as cultural ambassadors.

“Nigeria has an unearned bad reputation internationally. But Nigerians are better than that reputation. I call on President Buhari to travel with stars like @Realomosexy, @wizkidayo bad @alhajitekno as cultural ambassadors. They‘ll help change our reputation with their star power,” Bruce tweeted.

Ben Bruce, prides himself as the “common sense Senator” and regularly takes swipes at the APC administration.
