The Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Rogers Nicholas on Monday disclosed that twenty-six more members of Boko Haram have surrendered to troops in Borno state. The Commander who paraded the surrendered insurgents stated that they surrendered from Damboa general area of Southern Borno stressing that they also handed over their weapons to the troops.
He assured them of their safety and subsequent participation in the Federal Government’s deradicalization and rehabilitation program under the auspices of Operation SAFE CORRIDOR noting, that no surrendered insurgents will be harmed by troops of Operation Lafiya Dole.
The Commander further admonished them to call on their friends who are still with the group to denounce their membership and surrender to the troops nearest to them.
