The former governor of Cross River, Donald Duke on Tuesday debunked widespread reports that he has backed down on his presidential ambition. Duke who spoke to NAN on Tuesday explained that he has not officially declared for the number one seat in the country for strategic reasons. According to him;

The Code of Conduct Tribunal on Tuesday adjourned the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki till March 8 to enable the defence reply to the prosecution’s written address, Premiumtimes reports. President Muhammadu Buhari has declined his assent to the Peace Corp Establishment bill passed by the National Assembly last year. Members of southern and middle belt leader’s forum have warned the presidency against declaring state of emergency in Benue State, following incessant attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The Forum in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja also called for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for killings in the state and other parts of the country.
