President Muhammadu Buhari is currently holding a closed-door meeting with State Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State House, Abuja. The agenda of the meeting which started this afternoon was not made public by the Presidency. However a source in the Presidential Villa said issues to be discussed include the controversial tenure elongation of the party's National Executive Committee and the President's reelection bid.
It was gathered that the President wants to use the opportunity to prevail on the state governors to facilitate conduct of a free, fair and credible convention that would produce Chief John Oyegun's replacement, haven declared the elongation as illegal.
