The Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari on Sunday returned to London barely three days after she flew into the country from the United Kingdom to attend the Annual August Meeting organized by the wife of the Governor of Imo state.  Aisha Buhari had earlier travelled to London on July 4 to visit her husband who is currently on a follow-up medical trip to the country. Her latest trip makes it the third time the wife of the President is visiting London on account of the President's health.

Unlike the latest trip, a press statement was released to Journalists on July 2 about her second visit to London. The statement which was signed by the Director of Information to the Wife of the President, Suleiman Haruna reads  “Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari left for London, the United Kingdom on Sunday, July 2, 2017, to visit her husband who is on medical vacation.

She will convey to the President the best wishes of Nigerians and their fervent prayers for his quick recovery... She will continue her journey to the United Kingdom on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. ”

Although reports emerged last week that staffs at the State House have all been put on standby for the possible return of the President, the Presidency is yet to issue a statement on when the President will return to the country.

Meanwhile, a coalition of Civil Society Organizations has commenced protest in the Federal Capital Territory seeking immediate return or resignation of the President. The protesters claimed that the President had overspent the constitutionally required days to be away.
