The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris on Wednesday decorated Ibrahim Danjuma with the rank of Commissioner of Police after a court discharged and acquitted him of involvement in the killing of six Igbo traders in Apo District, Abuja in 2005. Danjuma who was decorated along with 14 others, recently promoted by the Police Service Commission.
Speaking after their decoration, the IGP admonished the newly promoted officers to be professional in the conduct of their duties. He cautioned them to avoid the temptation of being compromised by politicians as the 2019 general election approaches.
The IGP also hinted that efforts toward reorganization of SARS were ongoing to address some complaints made by Nigerians seeking the scrapping of SARS.
He appealed to the general public to assist the Police in the discharge of its duty by volunteering credible information.
