The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Mr. A bubakar Malami on Thursday said he is not aware of the reasons why the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) arrested the Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Motors, Innocent Chukwuma.  The AGF made this known while fielding questions from State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting which extended to Thursday.

Malami whose office supervises the operation of the EFCC said the Commission had not briefed him on circumstances surrounding the arrest. He however hinted that he was aware of a pending case between Innoson and Guaranteed Trust Bank.

“In all sincerity, I wasn’t privy to facts that led to the arrest. I haven’t been briefed by the relevant agency. But one thing l know is the fact that there has been a case between him (Chukwuma) and the GTBank that is pending in court and it is being prosecuted.

“Apart from that, I am not privy to facts and circumstances that led to his alleged arrest yesterday (Wednesday). So, until I am briefed by the relevant agency, I am not in a clear position to make any comment about the arrest.
