Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode says very powerful politicians in the government might be behind the sudden call for the resignation of the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Recall that the Deputy National Chairman of the APC (North), Lawani Shuaib, had urged Oshiomhole to tender his resignation letter following the Supreme Court’s nullification of the party’s primaries in Zamfara state.

He accused Oshiomhole of being responsible for the loss of some APC controlled states to opposition. He further alleged that the Chairman of the party had failed to address some of the problems that had continued to plague the party. Shuaib also called on Oshimhole to resign his position with immediate effect.

Reacting to the call for Oshiomhole's resignation, Fani-Kayode who said he feels sorry for the chairman of the party claimed that the call for Oshiomhole’s resignation by the deputy chairman was sanctioned by a more powerful politician.

He also claimed that the APC Chairman had been used and was on the verge of being dumped. Fani-Kayode who took to his Twitter handle to share his opinion said

“When your Deputy publicly calls for you to step down you know that someone powerful and strategic is behind it. I feel sorry for my old friend and brother Adams Oshiomole.

“They have used him and now they want to dump him. Watch your back old friend: these guys don’t take prisoners.”
