The Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has directed state workers without Permanent Voters Card to be captured in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) or forfeit their August Monthly salaries. The Governor issued the directive in a circular released on July 11, 2017 by the Head of Service, Barr. Harry Udo.

The circular titled "Possession of Voters Card and Payment of August 2017 Salary" stated that the directive became imperative due to the importance the state government attaches to the civic duty of participation in the CVR and the need for mass participation in the November 18 governorship election"anambra


The circular warned state workers to either obtain and present their voters cards or forfeit their August Salary. It further added that restoration of any salary or resumption of payment will be based solely on the presentation of a valid voter's card by the affected public servant.


It also directed the workers to submit the original and photocopy of their voter's card to their Permanent Secretary or Chief Executive of the MDA for sighting, endorsement and collation.
