Ijaw youth on Thursday declared support for President Buhari ahead 2019 General Election in reciprocal to the president projects in their region. The declaration was made by Mr, Daniel Dasimaka, who is the spokesperson for the Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC).

Damisaka in his statement disclosed that they have reached a consensus amongst Ijaws to rally behind President Buhari for his re-election bid, also enjoined all his ethnic neighbours to follow suit in the coming election according to Vanguard.


Dasiamka revealed in his statement that “IYC urges Niger Deltans to that of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, (PAP), Prof. Charles Dokubo, to offer mass support to the President’s second term bid for continuity of PAP.


According to him, Buhari need a second term to take them to “Next Level” for the good of the Niger Delta as a whole, such as Ogoni clean-up, Bonny-Bodo Road as well as Maritime University all approved to takeoff under his watch.


He added, under Buhari administration, they have witnessed the approvals for the establishment of Modular Refineries across the Niger-Delta with 38 licenses covering high scale refineries of 50,000 to 250,000 barrels per day issued so far.
Moreso, the Buhari lead administration has completed 6 cassava processing plants in Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, Abia and Imo States. 130 youth underwent training on poultry production, Aquaculture with 1million start up capital and much more.


Consequently, the President has demonstrated commitment to restoring peace in the region which he urged them to reciprocate the gesture by voting Buhari for continuity in 2019 the youth leader added.
