Just in: Buhari Nominate Fashola, Malami And Others To Oversee Power Sector Overhauling

President Muhammadu Buhari has today constituted a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for Presidential Power Initiate Committee. In an effort to reposition the power sector and increase the capacity of electricity generation and distribution in Nigeria, the President is worried about the state of the power in the country, describing it as a critical component of sustainable development. As the fall out of the Federal Executive Council approval, Buhari said the deal has been signed and sealed for delivery, the cost is very clear for the SPV to get to work.

He said the task of the committee is to ensure the PPI is implemented fully and serve as a catalyst for cohesion and flawless execution.

Accordingly, Buhari nominated the following members of his cabinet to execute the assignment, they include; the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), Minister of Power, Engr. Sale Mamman, the Minister of Finance and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, and the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola.

Others are; Director-General, Bureau of Public Enterprise, Alex A. Okoh, and the President Nigerian Society of Engineers, Babagana Mohammed.
