FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, whom US President Donald Trump has frequently criticised, abruptly stepped down from his position Monday ahead of his planned retirement this coming March. A 22-year veteran of the FBI, McCabe has been publicly and repeatedly lambasted over the past year by Trump, who has accused him of bias because of his wife’s political connections and an FBI investigation that produced no criminal charges against Hillary Clinton.

President of the United States has said he deeply respects Africans and would soon dispatch the country's top diplomat to the continent to strengthen bilateral relation between the US and Africa. The US President stated this last week in a letter to the African Union. The letter is said to have been informed by the reactions that greeted his purported description of Africa as 'shithole' countries.
