London has yet again witnessed another terror attack in what appears to be a copycat attack of the March 22, Westminster Bridge attack. A white van rammed into pedestrians on London Bridge on Saturday night, and then three men disembarked from the vehicle carried out multiple stabbings on people close Borough Market.


Seven people have been killed during the attack in what the authorities describe as a terrorist incident. The attackers wore fake bomb vests but they were shot dead by the police within eight minutes of calls to emergency services.


The white van travelled at high speed along London Bridge, knocking down pedestrians before running into a nearby pub. Forty eight people were injured during the attack and are receiving treatment in three hospitals.


This is the third terror attack in the United Kingdom in the last three months; the similar car and knifes attack in Westminster, that left five people dead, and the bombing in Manchester held Ariana Grande concert in which 22 people were killed.


There has been an outpouring of sympathy and support for London in the aftermath of the attack. President Donald Trump of the US condemned the cowardly attack targeting innocent civilians. The US state department said “The US stands ready to provide any assistance authorities in the US may request."


French President, Emmanuel Macron, has pledged solidarity with Britain, saying the France stands side by side with the United Kingdom.


The British Prime on Sunday Condemn the “evil ideology of Islamist extremism that preaches hatred, sows division and promotes sectarianism. She said there was “far too much tolerance of extremism” in the UK and she want to tackle and stamp out the menace. The PM promised to review counter-terrorism laws and suggest longer sentences for some offences.


The UK is preparing for general elections scheduled for Thursday 8 June.
