The police in Paris shot and wounded an unidentified man who attacked a police officer outside the famous Notre Dame Cathedral, today. The attacker was gunned down after attacking an officer with a hammer.

The attacker was wounded but not killed. The man attacked officers on duty at the Paris police headquarters, situated close to the cathedral, according to French media.

 

France is in a state of emergency since attacks by jihadists in Paris left 130 people dead in 2015.
