Former world footballer of the year, George Weah has been sworn in as the President of Liberia.

Goerge Weah took his oath of office this afternoon at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Complex in Monrovia.

His swearing in ceremony was attended by over forty thousand people including eight African Heads of States.

President Muhammadu Buhari was represented at the ceremony by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

George Weah was on December 28 declared the winner of the second round of Liberia's Presidential election after polling 62% of the general votes to defeat the Vice President, Joseph Boakai.
