Ghanaian Parliament Extends Stay of Two Former Guantanamo Detainees
The Ghanaian parliament has approved the extension of the stay of the two former Guantanamo Bay detainees in the country to January 2018. This follows the ratification of an agreement between the Government of Ghana and the Government of the United States of America (USA) on the resettlement in Ghana of Two former ex-Guantanamo Bay detainees in the country in accordance with article 75 ( 2 ) of the 1992 Constitution.

New Report Indicates South Africa Has the Highest HIV Prevalence Rate in World
The estimated overall HIV prevalence rate is approximately 12.6 percent among the South African population, the highest prevalence in the world, Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) said on Monday. The total number of people living with HIV is estimated at approximately 7.06 million in 2017, Stats SA said in its mid-year population estimates for 2017. For adults aged 15-49 years, an estimated 18.0 percent of the population is HIV positive, according to Stats SA.
