Students of Whitesands School, Lekki, numbering four, who represented Nigeria and Africa at the Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge in Florida have emerged the winner of a category in the competition.
The JSS2 students, William Afolabi, Mordi Menashi, Famobiwo Olubusuyi and Ugbo Osagumwenro won the Smoke-free World category of the competition at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Florida, US.
The competitors were required to develop innovative and marketable that could assist in reducing smoking likewise provide an economic solution to challenges facing tobacco farmers in the developing countries, by using Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics principles.
The successful four created an app they called Virtual Farm.
They reportedly received Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Good Citizens award among other prizes.
