British-Nigerian Holywood actor, John Boyega, has come out to offer reason for using Star singer, Wizkid’s song ‘Daddy Yo’, among the soundtracks for his upcoming film ‘Pacific Rim’.

The star of ‘Detroit’ and ‘Star Wars’, said he was honoured with the opportunity to influence creative choices in the movie so he thought it crucial to have Afrobeats music included the action flick.

Boyega on his Instagram page where he was seen dancing to the "Daddy Yo" wrote “One of the most exciting things about producing Pacific Rim Uprising was the opportunity to influence the creative choices.

”So I put @wizkidayo song “Daddy yo” in the movie. Jaegers need afrobeats too!

“Oh yeah… here’s a video of me listening to this very song. Cool, calm and collected. I think”.

The Hollywood star had in December disclosed that “Pacific Rim”, would heavily target Nigeria as a main marketing spot.

Wizkid, Davido and MC Galaxy have in the past had their songs used as soundtrack of Disney movie ‘Queen of Katwe’.
