The Governor of Osun State Rauf Aregbesola on Monday called on 2017 Batch ‘B’ stream 11 corps members posted to Osun state to be patriotic in their dealings and promote peace in the communities where they are billed to serve. The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner of Employment and Youth Engagement, Mrs. Folake Adegboyega stated this at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Osun, located at Ede, during the closing ceremony of the 3- week orientation programme.
He urged them to be good ambassadors of their families and the nation at large assuring that the state would assist them where necessary to enable them to harness their potentials.
"As you have successfully completed the first cardinal programme of the NYSC aimed at preparing graduate youths for their unique roles in the society; this you have successfully completed today, congratulations once again.
“I want to specially commend camp officials for their sacrifice and commitment towards the actualization of the objectives of the scheme. I know yours is a herculean task but you have shown a high sense of commitment towards ensuring that graduate youths are properly sensitised.
” I want to assure you that the government is very passionate about you, and we will continue to introduce different programmes to aid your knowledge and exposure, ” Aregbesola said.
Also speaking, the State Coordinator of the scheme, Mr Emmanuel Attah described the 3-week orientation programme as a great opportunity for corps members to interact with colleagues from other parts of the country. He charged the Corps members to put everything they have learnt during the orientation exercise to practice at their various Places of Primary Assignment and host communities.
