The co-convener of the "Resume or Resign" protest tagged "Our Mumu Don Do", Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy has called out 2Face for refusing to join the protest. The protest was aimed at ensuring the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari or his immediate return from London where he receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
The "Area Fada" as he is popularly known, expressed his bitterness in a short video posted on his social media pages including Instagram and Twitter. He described 2Face as lily-livered and wondered why the multiple award-winning artist failed to join the protest given the current situation in the country.
A transcript of the video reads;
“My guy 2face, I am not happy with you. Since I couldn’t reach you directly, I decided to reach you through this medium. Do you remember when you called on Nigerian youths to come out and protest? We obeyed because we thought you had a good intention to stand up to the injustices against the youths and masses of this country."
"But, as you retreated into a hole since then, I am very pained. If a beckon of hope like you can be lily-livered when people need you more, what is your problem? 2face are you happy with the way Nigeria is headed? Are you saying you have not heard about the resume or resign protest, why are you not involved?”
All attempts to reach 2Face for possible response failed as he neither answered the call nor replied text messages to his phone number.
