Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has call on the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to consider engaging with the Zimbabwe government advice to address the current unprecedented level of inflation in the country. The former President, made this call yesterday Monday during a youth leadership symposium as part of activities to mark his 87th birthday, saying Nigeria has Zimbabwe as an African brother to learn from.
Obasanjo noted that the Zimbabwe’s authorities just navigated a similar storm recently to a success in overcoming a similar challenge, and therefore in a better position to offer valuable guidance to the west African giants.
Although, the former leader enjoined Nigerians to remain strong in the face of the current situation of things in the country, adding that the tough time doesn’t last but only tough people must get going when the time is rough and tough like this.
Meanwhile, the former leader urged citizen to invoke Gods face into the situation, maintaining that the economic hardship and hunger will not be permanent.
In his statement, “Committing suicide is not the end of any problem, confront it and take it to God because he could do anything.
“Zimbabwe had this problem recently. Shouldn’t we ask them how they did it even if our approach will be different?
“Even if whatever we shall be doing will be different, we can ask questions to navigate our way out,” he added.
