Androids users could get a little boost for their secure files as Truecaller introduces Backup for Android, a feature that will simplify users moving their files to a new phone or SIM card.
Truecaller's Public Relations Agent made the disclosure in a statement in Lagos on Monday, adding that the company achieves this by securely backing-up users contacts, calendar events and settings one Google Drive.
"Each day, hundreds of thousands of Truecaller subscribers are switching to new devices and are getting new SIM cards, resetting their phones or in general having to start their Truecaller journey a new."
"This inevitably leads to loss of contacts, blank call logs and data gone missing."
This will greatly assist to retrieve lost contacts and data during phone transition.
The statement further revealed that users would also have the power to customise the frequency of backup on demand between daily, weekly and monthly.
“Initially, the backup file will only be available for Google Drive users, but the plan is to expand the options to other backup storage in the nearest future.
“If you do not already have a Google Drive account, you will be prompted to create one,” it added.
Truecaller which has a mission to build trust everywhere by making communication safe and efficient, was founded in 2009.
