Google in the last few months has begun removing from YouTube extremist videos that do not depict violence or preach hate, YouTube said on Monday, a major policy shift as social media companies face increasing pressure from governments.

The new policy affects videos that feature people and groups that have been designated as terrorist by the U.S. or British governments but lack the gory violence or hateful speech that were already barred by YouTube.

The Federal Bureau Of Investigation (FBI), has confiscated the phone of the gunman who opened fire at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas on Sunday, 5 November, but is unable to unlock it for its ongoing investigation, an official revealed.

The shooter, who has been identified as 26-year-old Devin Kelley, killed 26 people during a service at the First Baptist Church.

A total of 3,480 young Nigerians, mostly girls, was deported from Libya in the last 10 months, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCRMI) has said.

The NCRMI South-West Zonal Director, Mrs Magret Ukegbu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday that the deportees were received from Feb. 1 to Nov. 6.

A team of cybersecurity experts led by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reportedly remotely hacked a Boeing 757 aircraft, without the knowledge of the pilots. It apparently took the DHS team, comprised of academicians and industry experts, a total of two days to infiltrate and gain control of the aircraft's systems.

The aircraft was hacked at an airport in Atlantic City, New Jersey last year, as part of a test. The Boeing 757 aircraft was reportedly acquired by the DHS in September 2016. CBS reported that US President Donald Trump's personal jet, as well as the plane frequently used by vice president Mike Pence, is Boeing 757.

Some 800 schools across the US have been targeted by hackers and their websites redirected to an Islamic State-sponsored YouTube video.

The attack, which lasted a few hours, affected schools in Arizona, Connecticut, Virginia and New Jersey.

A fake version of the WhatsApp messenger app was downloaded more than a million times from the Google Play Store before it was removed.

The app, "Update WhatsApp Messenger", appeared to have been developed by the firm behind the real program - WhatsApp Inc.
