Chelsea playmaker, Eden Hazard may have turned down a new contract offer worth 340, 000 Euros per week a deal that could have guaranteed the Belgian almost 18m Euros a year. According to Marca, the player has refused to sign the deal at least for now. The report claimed that Hazard's decision to delay the contract may not be unconnected with perceived interest from Spanish giant, Real Madrid.

According to Hazard, given that his current contract expires in 2020, there is no need to rush a fresh deal.

Apart from Hazard, Chelsea's number one goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has also refused to sign a new deal to extend his stay at the Bridge. Both players are waiting to see if Madrid would put forward an offer that will see them move to the La Liga side.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte is reported to be persuading the players to sign a new deal before they go to the World Cup.
