Amidst Neville Speculation, Coach Alonso Got Fired By Miami


Inter Miami has confirmed the sacking of its manager, Diego Alonso amid speculation that England Women’s leader, Phil Neville is amongst options to be in charge of the Major League clubs.

Although it was learned that Alonso parted ways with Miami through a mutual agreement.

The statement According to the Miami CF manager, Jorge Mas, “On behalf of the organization, I want to thank Diego for his hard work and dedication during our inaugural season and wish him the best in his future endeavors,”.

“This was a difficult year and a very tough decision for everyone, but we believe it is the right step for the club. We have great expectations for Inter Miami in the short and long term.”

A disappointing debut season in MLS might have informed the decision of Miami which produced only seven victories three draws and 13 losses was not good enough.

According to reports, the club has been longing to have a strong link and have an England coach Neville, a close associate to former Manchester United team-mate co-owner, David Beckham.

Neville’s contract with England is set to expire by end of July, but the coach was due to manage the Great Britain team at the Tokyo Olympics.

Neville, 43, took England’s women to the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup in France, where they were beaten by eventual champions the United States.
