Venues For AFCON Finals Ready

The Egypt Football Association (EFA), have named Cairo International Stadium, a military venue on the outskirts of the capital, the controversial Port Said Stadium, Alexandria, Ismailia, Suez among others as they prepare for the 24 team tournament.

The venues for the new-look 24-team tournament were decided by the EFA, who through its spokesman  Ahmed Megahed said: "We had initially proposed eight sites for the tournament but after an inspection by a Caf [Confederation of African Football] delegation, we chose only six." 

The stadiums to be used are Cairo International Stadium, Air Force Stadium (June 30 Stadium), Port Said Stadium, Ismaila Stadium, Suez Sports Stadium, and Alexandria Stadium. All venues were used during the 2006 edition of the tournament except Suez Sports Stadium which has a capacity of 27000.
