Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane says it is unfair to label him as the worst performing coach in the world after his side lost two consecutive matches against newly promoted Girona in the Spanish La Liga and Tottenham in the European Champions League. Zindane who recently won the award for being the best coach in the world claimed that he is neither the number one nor the worst coach.
Speaking to reporters ahead of their game on Sunday against Las Palmas, the Frenchman said there was no cause for alarm over the current poor form by the team.
"The best way to explain the defeats is that this is football. Criticism is just something which I can't avoid. I'm not the best coach in the world, which maybe people said for a season, and I accept that but right now I'm also not the worst.
I don't get too carried away, there is no euphoria when things are going well or getting too down when they go wrong, I'm always in the middle. It is something which I learned as a player. What I think and what my players think is the same. We aren't happy about the two games we have lost but it doesn't change what we want to achieve.
Bad streaks happen in football, it is nothing new. It happened last year and in the end we achieved great things and want to do that again," he said.
"The only thing we can concentrate on is winning our next game and doing everything possible to make sure that happens. We can't control the outside, only our own hard work. I don't think it is true though that we are playing badly. Sometimes, we are a little worse but not for the whole game or all of the games. It is a bad moment but it isn't the worst of my career."
