Tiemoue Bakayoko on Thursday escaped unhurt after a minor car crash at Cobham, Chelsea's training ground. SKY Sports reports that the incident occurred after the France midfielder left the club's training ground. The report however added that it is unlikely that the incident would affect his availability for the trip to Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.

Bakayoko's incident happened minutes before the Premier League champions announced they had agreed a deal to sell embattled striker Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid. Costa was shut out of the team after Antonio Conte declared him surplus to requirement at the end of last season. He has since refused to return to London after the break, accusing Chelsea of treating him like a criminal.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea from League 1 side Monaco after assisting the club to snatch the trophy from Paris Saint Germain. He has made six appearances competitive for Chelsea so far, after recovering from injury.
