Paris Saint Germain (PSG) new signing, Kylian Mbappe said his decision to snub Real Madrid for League 1 club was because of the prospect for regular starting berth. Mbappe who was recently unveiled by PSG after a season-long loan deal from Monaco told L'Equipe that he also rejected a move to Manchester City although he has huge admiration for Coach Pep Guardiola.

"I felt that at PSG, I would have more opportunities to play than at Real Madrid. Guardiola is a coach who breathes football, he won everywhere and he transmits passion and makes you want to play. When I spoke with him, he explained how he would use me in his tactical system. But I did not say no to Guardiola, I said no to Manchester City."

Mbappe disclosed that his transfer to PSG was not planned as he had hoped to assist Monaco lift the Champions League trophy this season.

"I had no intention of leaving Monaco at the end of the season, but things happened and I decided to change my mind and I'll take the time to explain it later. I dream of winning the Champions League this year, it's easy to say in September, but what counts is to be able to say it in February. We have a great team on paper, now we'll have to prove it on the pitch."
