 Real Madrid beat Manchester United 2 - 1 on Tuesday at Philip II Arena in Skopje, Macedonia, to win the 2017 UEFA Super Cup. The UEFA Super Cup is an annual football match organised by UEFA and contested by the reigning champions of the two main European club competitions, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.

The match takes place to herald the commencement of the football season in Europe. Gareth Bale is starting for Real Madrid ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo who is on the bench. Casemiro latched onto a ball Carvajal lofts over the shoulder of Manchester's defender, Lindolf.
