The Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Mr. Rufai Abubakar, has ordered an investigation into the leakage of sensitive information to the social media.
In a memo signed by Mr. J. Abba on behalf of the DG NIA, dated 19 January, the DG averred that the objective of the investigation is to unearth and punish the perpetrators responsible for leaking information, which was clearly aimed at damaging the agency's public image and misleading the public, as well as ridiculing the government.
