President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated 10 additional locomotives and two coaches in Rigasa Train Station, Kaduna. The President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to link all commercial cities and production centre’s including state capitals through rail in order to fastback the socio-economic development of the nation.

While commissioning the additional locomotives and coaches in Kaduna, he said that the government will vigorously pursue rail development in Nigeria.

 

The President added that negotiations are currently on-going with private sector investors for narrow gauge rail lines in order to expand the reach of reach of rail services in the country.

 

Rotimi Ameachi, Transport Minister restated government’s commitment the successful implementation of the of all rail projects in the country, he however, noted that $40 billion will be required to execute and complete the projects in 2018.
