President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met the suspended House of Representatives member, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibril behind close door at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Hon. Jibril who represented Kiri/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano state before his suspension also served as the Chairman House Committee on Appropriation.

After the meeting, Hon. Jibrin refused to give State House Correspondents details of their discussion. He merely said it was a meeting 'between father and son'. According to him “As you are aware, I have not seen the President for a while now. It was a meeting between a son and a father.”

When probed on whether the visit was to seek President Buhari's intervention in his ordeal, he said  “I cannot comment in that regard. The most important thing is that I saw him and he was in a very high spirit. I greeted like a son and he spoke to me like a father.”

He condemned the refusal by the House to recall him even after the Senate had recalled Sen Ali Ndume who was also suspended.

“That is the interesting thing about the situation. The same case, similar case, identical case was dispensed with within two months but I’m is still hanging in the court system. But again, I know the Nigerian judiciary is just so. I’m pretty sure that soonest, I will be able to get judgment and my constituency will soon get back to the house.”
