Honourable Garba Umar Durbunde, member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Sumaila/Takai federal constituency was abducted along Abuja – Jere expressway, Kaduna.
The lawmaker is believed to be traveling alone, His abductors have reportedly contacted the family.
The Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed shock over the incident, describing it as “act of wickedness perpetrated by evil and cold-hearted elements”.
Dr Ganduje appealed to security agencies to ensure the safe release of the legislator.
Durbunde as the commissioner for rural development in the administration of Rabiu Kwankwaso, the immediate past governor of Kano and is a close ally of the former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Vigil360 learnt that, a combined team Security agencies have been dispatched to secure his release.
